Changes to the law From January 2005, part p of the building regulations came in to effect. This covers electrical work in dwellings in England and Wales . In simple terms this means it is a legal requirement that all electrical work carried out complies with the sixteenth edition wiring regulations as amended and that all work is notified to the local authority. Consequently any one carrying out work in dwellings that does not comply will be liable to prosecution, even the house holder. Electrical Solutions is NICEIC approved and registered on the new government approved ‘niceic domestic installer scheme’, so we are authorised to certify all our new installation work as compliant with the building regulations.
